With
the help of truncation characters (wildcard characters) variations of a word can
be included in the search. Question marks ? or asterisks * can be used as wildcard
characters.
Question
Mark: A
single question mark replaces one character; two question marks replace two characters etc. Question marks can be
used either in the middle of or at the end of a word.

Results:
Works found contain Kayserin or Kaiserin in the categories
Author, Title or Chapter Headings.
Basic Search: Fre?maurer
Results:
Works found contain Freimaurer or Freymaurer in the
categories Author, Title or Chapter Headings.
Asterisk:
An
asterisk replaces any number of characters, including zero characters. It can be
used in the middle of or at the end of a word.

Kaiser*
Results:
Works found contain words like Kaiser, Kaisers, Kaiserin, Kaiserlich,
Kaiserwahl, Kaiser-Carl-Bad etc.
in the categories Author, Title or Chapter Headings.

Note:
Wildcard characters cannot
be used in phrases.
