Bio-bibliographic
articles on the authors can be viewed. They originate from Deutsches
Literatur-Lexikon (German Encyclopedia of Literature) or Deutsche
Biographische Enzyklopädie (Dictionary
of German Biography),
or were written especially for the database.
You
can access the biographical articles via the bibliographic descriptions: linked
names are given beneath the bibliographic description of a work. The articles
open in a new browser window.
Each
author has been allotted a specific identification number, the PND ID. This
ID originates from the Name Authority File of Deutsche Nationalbibliothek
(German National Library).
The
PND ID and the author name from the authority file are given at the beginning of
the article.
To
find works by the relevant author, the database 18th Century
German Literature Online offers the option of searching directly for the
PND ID using the Advanced Search. The
author name and the name variations from the PND are listed in the index PND
Names.
